Pointers on visually documenting your experience

--Start to think about how you can capture and share your experience visually in interesting/ creative ways over the course of the semester. --Try to include photos of yourself, your workspace/s, the site, things you're working on, the neighborhood, your lunches (if you're into that kind of thing), etc. --Hopefully your mentor and coworkers will become comfortable with you including photos with them in it, but for now don't worry about it. --Make sure you are respecting all rules or confidentiality agreements. I / we don't need to see the actual text of documents you are working on or anything else that your site might not want to be shared with others. If you're not sure what is OK to photograph, ask your mentor. --Be sure you are taking photos at appropriate times. Week #1 Questions

Please post your answers on your blog by this Friday, February 2. 1) What were your first impressions of your site, your mentor, your co-workers, the neighborhood, etc.? When you look back on this experience, what do you think you will remember most about the very beginning? 2) What did you do this week? What are some of the most important things you learned or discovered? 3) How do you feel about your roles / responsibilities at the start of your internship? 4) What has been your biggest challenge so far? How have you approached this challenge? 5) What experiences and opportunities are you looking forward to at your internship right now? Explain. 6) Please insert some photos of yourself at your site to help give me and your classmates a visual understanding of where you are.

How to Create your Internship Blog

1) Go to blogger.com, sign into your google account, and follow the quick steps on the site to create an internship blog. Please put your first name and the name of your site in the title of your blog so I can easily tell whose blog I'm reading. 2) If you feel inspired, you can customize the appearance of your blog by clicking on Template on the left hand side of the main blogger page, click Customize, and choose among different backgrounds, fonts, colors, etc. Be sure your blog is easy to read: the font needs to be big enough and there should be a strong contrast between the color of the font and of the background. 3)  VERY IMPORTANT:  On the left hand side of the main blogger.com page: --Click on Settings --Under the Basic section, next to Privacy, click on Edit --Selection No for both questions --Click on Save --Scroll down to the very bottom to where it says Permissions --Next to Blog Readers, click Edit --Choose Private--Only These Readers, and type in my email...
